Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and Policy Solutions have jointly decided to hold a conference entitled ’The far-right and the mainstream’. The conference aims to provide an in-depth investigation of the interaction between the far-right and mainstream politics.
The two panels will include presentations that will cover many aspects of the links between far-right parties and the society. First, demand for far-right ideas on behalf of the societies will be analysed. Second, we will investigate what strategies the mainstream media can follow to handle the far-right. Third, far-right parties' strategies to become more mainstream will be investigated. Fourth, the impact of far-right parties on mainstream political forces will be also covered.
The speakers of the event will present trends and lessons from the UK, the US, Germany and Hungary.
The event will be held in Budapest, on the 24th of June 2015.
